Item Description
6-5/8x22-7/8" artboard has Al Capp's pencil and ink original art for May 18, 1939 daily strip. Strip features four panels, w/Li'l Abner arriving at Aunt Bessie's for costume party only to be followed around by suit of armor. Abner appears in every panel. Capp has signed last panel. Penciled "They're A Dime A Dozen" title at top margin. KFS copyright strip at bottom of second panel. First panel has surface paper lift and some sticker residue w/minor ink touch-up to outline of word balloon. Artboard margins have some aging and scattered wear, but art remains clean and VF/Exc. overall. Wonderful example of Li'l Abner from the popular comic strip's early years.
