Item Description
1.75". No maker but w/union stamp on back. Simple but striking design of text on baseball image. Jackie Robinson made his Major League debut on April 15, 1947 for Branch Rickey's Brooklyn Dodgers, becoming the first African American ballplayer in the modern Major Leagues. Robinson would go on to win the National League Rookie of the Year award in 1947 and this button was produced in support of that accolade. He was inducted in the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1962. Trivial surface wear upon magnification. Glossy, Exc. Paul Muchinsky Collection Book Example.
