Item Description
4.75x5x3" deep cardboard box w/wonderfully illustrated lid contains wind-up tricycle toy made in Japan for the Japanese market by Masudaya, 1966. Box lid features manga-like illustration of Batman on tricycle, complete w/ringing bell on back of tricycle. Lid has some lt. corner tip wear w/tiny spot of edge wear. Box bottom has some minor creases. Box is VF overall. Toy measures approx. 4.5" long and 4.75" tall. Wind-up has built-in key and plastic body w/painted tin gear box and tin litho wheels and bell on back, which features two full body Batman images. Celluloid Batman rider figure is jointed at shoulders and has felt cape. Of note, Batman has wonderful foreign pink coloration. Cape was originally blue in color, but has heavy fade and is now gray. Hint of the original color can be seen on underside of cape. Cape exhibits surface wear and has 1/8x3/8" spot of residue. Figure itself is o/w free of any cracks/dents and Exc. Plastic handlebar has had professional repair where it attached to tricycle's "headlight." This blends nicely. Overall, toy shows relatively little wear and displays Exc. Wind-up action works and bell rings. Rare Japanese Batman toy, very rare as boxed.
