Item Description
5.75x18" artboard has pen and ink (w/screentone accent) original art for May 12, 1947 daily strip. Strip features art by Lt. Dick Calkins, the first Buck Rogers artist. Strip features three illustration panels and shows Wilma Deering, Jim Brown and Killer Kane readying damaged Solar Star spaceship to escape Planet Goro. Wilma and Killer Kane both appear in first and last panels. Second panel has been personalized "To Steve Douglas - Regards - Dick Calkins" by the artist. Lower right has John F. Dille Co. copyright. Artboard has even moderate aging w/some small scattered age spots. Center has slight ripple from application of screentone accent. Back exhibits moderate aging along bottom. Fine overall but art remains clean and VF. Gene Seger Buck Rogers Collection.
