Item Description
Four 11.5x14.5" Millar Publishing artboards featuring pen and ink original art (w/screentone and blue pencil accents) for complete four-page story originally published in DRAG Cartoons #29 in July 1966 by Pete Millar (1929-2003), illustrator, cartoonist and drag racer known for his work w/CARtoons and DRAG Cartoons magazines. Art is for Batman spoof story Battman With Robbin The Wonder and features caricatures of Batman and Robin based on the 1966 Batman TV show, showing Commissioner calling for Battman and Robbin, only for Robbin to take the "Battmobile," leaving Battman to ride small motorcycle, which causes him to be mistaken for one of the "Angels from Hell" and causing police chase. Battman accepts a race challenge from Granny Goose w/the resolution being promised in the following month's issue of DRAG Cartoons (see following lot). Second artboard has pencil sketch of spiked German style biker helmet. Artboards show some lt. margin wear but art remains clean and Exc. overall. Great Batman and Robin content. From the Archives of Publisher Pete Millar.
