Item Description
First Hake's has offered. 1.75". No maker but w/union back stamp. Shows Jackie in his Brooklyn Dodgers uniform and this is the same photo that appears, in expanded format, on the 1948 Old Gold Cigarette advertising premium card. On this variety, there is a just a pale gray bkg. around Jackie (see next lot for a different version). Trace of oxidation on metal back. Back rim curl has a few minor separations caused in manufacturing. Does not take the button out of round and only mentioned for complete accuracy. Front has lt. wear under magnification but remains bright and glossy. Still Exc. as made. Among the rarest of all Jackie PM10 buttons. Paul Muchinsky Collection Book Example.
