Item Description
19.5x27.5" artboard has individual panels w/India ink original art cut out and applied to larger artboard. Art is for Nov. 15, 1953 Sunday page by Dick Tracy creator Chester Gould. Artboard has title stat paste-over and features 13 panels, including Crimestoppers Textbook panel at top. Sunday features Chick Smithly going undercover as a maid to photograph evidence on 3-D Magee and his girlfriend. Dick Tracy and Sam Catchem appear in last panel. Gould has signed cut-out paste-over applied to title stat, which has moderate aging/glue staining. Tenth panel bears date and has Chicago Tribune copyright strip. Upper left corner has large inked date. Back has engraving inkstamp. First panel has some smudging to Chick's face, but o/w art remains clean and Exc. Artboard has some corner foxing but would make for nice framed display.
