Item Description
13.75x20.5" w/India ink original art by artist/creator Stanley Link. Art was for Oct. 31, 1943 Sunday page and features three Link cartoons. 11 panel "Tiny Tim" cartoon features Tiny Tim chasing rabbit into tunnel and falling into hole. Bottom features Link's short-lived "Dennis The Menace" (which is totally unrelated to Hank Ketchum's long-running "Dennis The Menace" cartoon which would debut in 1951) cartoon w/three panels (in addition to title panel), showing diaper-clad child w/horns and devil tail smashing pocket watch. This strip would only run during 1943. Last panel is single panel "Ching Chow" cartoon, featuring politically incorrect character riding horse led by sack of oats suspended before it on pole as he spouts Confucius-like proverb. "Dennis The Menace" strip was a separate thin artboard that was pasted on bottom of "Tiny Tim" artboard, w/strip of glue staining across bottom. Back has inkstamp from Tribune engraver's room. Artboard has scattered margin dust soiling and some small spots of staining. Fine overall.
