Item Description
Original plain cardboard shipping box contains nicely detailed 19.5" tall painted molded rubber on raised "American Airline" base w/eagle logo. Made for travel agency or airport display to promote the airline's "Royal Coachman" non-stop service via DC-7s from Los Angeles to New York. Early 1950s. Box is complete w/inserts and shows obvious aging/wear and has some scattered moisture staining. Fine overall. Figure is missing elongated trumpet originally held in hand, however silk-screened satin banner reading "American Airlines - Royal Coachman - DC-7 Nonstop" that hangs from the trumpet is present. Slight warp to base Coachman's feet and scattered aging/dust soiling. Fine. Scarce display.
