Item Description
5x18.5" artboard has pen and ink original art for Strip No. 483, "More Automs," from the 1935 "Cave Robots" story. Strip features art by Lt. Dick Calkins, the first "Buck Rogers" artist. Strip features three illustration panels (as well as introduction text panel) and shows Buck and Wilma Deering saving Eenan from large Autom robot, destroying said robot w/disintegrator pistol as more arrive in last panel. Buck and Wilma appear in every illustration panel. Last panel has been personalized "To Nancy Higgins - Best Regards - Buck Rogers And Lt. Dick Calkins" above strip number. Lower left has printed 1935 copyright text. Pin holes at top corners and middle left/right margins. Scattered dust soiling and even aging. Archival tape repair to .25" area along top margin of second illustration panel. Upper right corner of first illustration panel also has small spot of faint restoration. Scattered corner tip wear. Fine overall but art remains clean and VF.
