Item Description
8x9.75" original matte photo depicting 19 ballplayers from the 1935 Kansas City Blues ball club, a Pittsburgh Piartes affiliate, posing in front of stadium seating. A very light photographer's stamp on the back appears to read "Orr Kiefer Studio, Columbus, OH". The Blues team would finish the season tied for third place in the AA American Association with a record of 84-70 under manager Dutch Zwilling. A total of 16 club members would go on to play in the Major Leagues: Dale Alexander, Hi Bell, Bill Brubaker, Kit Carson, Ray French, Curt Fullerton, Mike Kreevich, Ed Madjeski, Wilcy Moore, Phil Page, Ham Schulte, Hal Smith, Rollie Stiles, Steamboat Struss, George Stumpf and Ernie Sulik. Every player appearing in this photo has signed their name within their own image.Photo exhibits staining in several spots, primarily in the upper right-hand corner on the front. Fine.
