Item Description
Approx. 17x23.5" prop newspaper used during production of 1980's "Superman II," directed by Richard Lester and starring Christopher Reeve, Margot Kidder, Gene Hackman, Ned Beatty, Terence Stamp, Sarah Douglas and Jack O'Halloran. "Daily Planet" header appears above large and bold "White House Surrenders" headline featuring photo of the film's President, played by E.G. Marshall and the film's main antagonist - General Zod, played by Terence Stamp. Rest of front page has articles not related to the film. These newspapers were seen being sold by street vendor and were seen on various tables as set decorations. The prop itself consists of single front page sheet that was once attached to Oct. 26, 1979 issue of "The Windsor Express," a local paper published near Pinewood Studios, where "Superman II" was filmed. This shows typical aging while cover sheet remains clean and shows just lt. aging along left/right margins as gummed and once attached to newspaper. Upper left corner has .75" sliver off and .25" line puncture. Newspaper was folded as issued and is Fine/VF overall. Comes with Prop Store COA.
