Item Description
10-3/8x15.75" artboard has pencil original art by George Tuska (in all but sixth and eighth panels) and Marie Severin (panels 6 and 8) that has been inked by Tuska (1916-2009). Art is for page 14 of "Tower Of Shadows" #3, published by Marvel Jan. 1969. Page features eight panels from "It Happens At Midnight In The Wax Museum!" story, showing narrator telling story of reporter sneaking into wax museum. Art by Severin (1929-2018) is a paste-over covering majority of sixth panel, showing the reporter being startled at top of basement stairs by wax dummies of Dracula and an Ygor-like character. Last panel features large paste-over covering everything but Tuska's reporter image. This paste-over features Severin's classic rendering of various horror-related wax dummies, including Jack the Ripper, a mummy, and various ghouls. Fourth panel also has partial paste-over, w/Tuska redrawing top portion of narrator. Top margin has inkstamped title and handwritten issue/page numbers. Bottom margin has some pencil editorial notations. Back has Comics Code Authority inkstamp and some aged masking tape. Bottom right corner has aged strip of tape and art has some scattered white correctional fluid. Spot of dark staining at bottom right. Art remains clean for the most part and displays Fine/VF and would look nice if matted and framed.
