Item Description
1.5" dia. cello w/The Spirit portrait image and "Here Comes The Spirit - New Minneapolis Morning Tribune" text. c. 1942. One of two different red/white buttons issued at this time (see previous item); each was issued for a different paper and used a totally different image of The Spirit. Typical trace aging to metal reverse but front remains totally bright, glossy and NM for display. This and the "Star Journal" newspaper promotional button are the only two known early vintage buttons for this historic character. Both are rare (this being the rarer of the two) as they were distributed in small quantities only in a single city.
