Item Description
Lot of three different 8x10" war bond certificates, all issued 1944 and featuring same 22 character portraits including Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Seven Dwarfs, Baby Weems, Joe Carioca and others surrounding text at center, which differs. First is on cardboard w/standee back and used as point-of-purchase display at New York bank. Sept. 12, 1944 date at bottom right. Some corner tip wear but VF. First we've seen of this display in our 52 years. Another New York issued certificate has April 13, 1944 date at lower right. Some margin aging but VF/Exc. overall. 10.5x12.25" display mat contains 8x10" certificate issued in Los Angeles, 1944. Certificate is unused and Exc. w/some handling creases to mat. Scarce version of a war years Disney classic and just the second we've offered in our 52 years w/matching mat.
