Item Description
Marvel's "Fantastic Four" made its TV debut w/a Hanna-Barbera produced animated series on Sept. 9, 1967. Alex Toth adapted Jack Kirby and Stan Lee's comic book characters for the screen, as seen in this 10-1/8x14" animation artboard featuring tempera original art bkg. w/10x11-5/8" trimmed acetate cel w/full body image of The Thing measuring 3.5x5-3/8". We believe this cel to be from Season 1, Episode 4, "Red Ghost." Cel has small "110" number at lower right. Cel has corner tips of lower corners; left corner showing more moderate wear. Cel is technically Fine, but issues do not concern Thing image, which displays Exc. Artboard has hand-numbered "#38" and "C-328" notations in black felt tip pen across top margin. This original art bkg. is not from the episode mentioned but compliments the cel art nicely. This animation set-up could easily be matted and framed for Exc. display.
