Item Description
"The Shari Lewis Show" children's TV program first aired on NBC from 1960 to 1963. Offered here is 14-7/8x16.25" artboard w/attached paper overlay and acetate overlay w/"Shari Lewis And Friends" pasted stat in place over original mixed media art showing Shari Lewis and her puppet friends - Lamb Chop, Charlie Horse, Wing Ding and Hush Puppy - surrounding TV. Acetate overlay also has "©1963 Tarcher Productions Inc." paste-over strip and Aladdin Industries strip as this art was used for the front of Aladdin's vinyl lunchbox. Artboard has some production notations at margins and shows corner tip/margin wear. Artboard is Fine overall but art remains clean and Exc. Original Aladdin envelope contains 11.25x19.25" artboard w/attached acetate overlay. Artboard features 6-5/8x15.75" image area featuring mixed media original art as seen on Aladdin's thermos issued w/aforementioned vinyl lunchbox. Art shows different image of Shari Lewis as well as her puppet characters enjoying ice cream. Overlay has "Shari Lewis And Friends" pasted stat and Aladdin Industries name strip. This has some scattered aging. Lower right margin has pencil production notations and top center has sticker w/further info. Artboard has some moderate corner tip wear and is Fine/VF but art is clean and Exc. Vintage lunchbox art is very desirable and does not come to auction often. Comes w/production example of the vinyl lunchbox and thermos. Lunchbox has one interior .25" split and some aging to metal rivets and "feet" on underside, but o/w remain bright and glossy. VF for display. 6.5" tall metal thermos w/plastic cap has some aging to metal rims w/wear along seam. Fine/VF.
