Item Description
1940s. Striking 47" tall anti-Japan display item crafted from 100lb. practice bomb during World War II. Practice bombs were filled w/water or sand to achieve stated weight, this one is now empty. Entire bomb has been painted orange and has had large "Tokyo And Bust" slogan hand-painted on side, w/image of sun labeled "Setting Sun," a reference to Japan being referred to as the Land of the Rising Sun. Scattered paint flaking and minor oxidation. nose of bomb has sizable dent as used and another sizable dent to bomb body just above fins. Still stands upright for display and also has metal loops on one side should one decide to hang item for display. Great centerpiece for any World War II anti-Axis collection.
