Item Description
11-3/8.25x14" artboard has Joe Musial's pen and ink original art for cover to the May 1947 issue of "Ace Comics," published by David McKay. Cover features Fritz Katzenjammer of "The Katzenjammer Kids" carrying basket of tomatoes below sign reading "Baseball Opening" while a baseball ticket is seen sticking out of his coat. "Ace Comics" logo is printed stat. All else is original art. Musial has signed at lower left, which also has KFS copyright strip. Glue staining over "Baseball Opening" as published cover featured altered text, but art remains clean and Exc.
