Item Description
High quality 9.75x13.25x1.25" thick book w/376 pages (on high quality 100# sterling litho gloss paper) is from a numbered edition of 5,000 copies printed by Celestial Arts in 1981. This is the first edition hardcover, individually numbered "1710." Book features a nice selection of full color Uncle Scrooge reprint stories written and drawn by Carl Barks. Additional material includes a detailed Uncle Scrooge checklist of his Dell, Gold Key and Whitman comic book appearances. Leather cover w/gold gilt title and decorations and a hand-inlayed color plate reproducing Barks "McDuck Of Duckburg" painting. Comes w/8.5x11" lithograph (on archival quality paper) "Wanderers Of Wonderlands" that was only issued w/this book and bears matching "1710/5000" edition number along w/Carl Barks' signature in pencil at lower right. Aside from some minor aging to a few pages, book and lithograph are NM/Mint. This was the first high end Barks reprint book and to this day remains one of the nicest.
