Item Description
Original 8x10" glossy high quality silver gelatin publicity photo on heavyweight stock depicts nine important members of the Walt Disney Studios standing in front of the Hyperion Avenue studio location, c. early 1930. Photo shows Disney himself standing at top center, flanked by animator Ub Iwerks and music director Carl Stalling (both of whom who would leave Disney shortly after this photo was taken). Others in the photo include animators Jack King, Dick Lundy (who helped create Donald Duck), Merle Gilson and Norm Ferguson as well as directors Burt Gillett and Ben Sharpsteen. A die-cut Mickey Mouse figure (featuring Iwerks' iconic pose) was been placed on the ground in front of the group. This is from a series of publicity photos taken on the same day, and Disney's hat can be seen laying on grass in bkg. Photo is evenly aged and has some minor handling wear (most of which is only visible in reflected light), but still displays Exc. Photo is further enhanced by Ferguson having written the names off all those photographed (noting himself as "Yours Truly") on the back in pencil.
