Item Description
7-1/8x22-7/8" thin artboard titled "Highhatting The Public" in pencil at left margin has India ink original art for June 8, 1935 daily strip. Art features three panels w/Skeezix leaving military school for vacation w/classmate, hitchhiking home, only to decide upon wearing their dress bonnets to ensure a ride. Last panel has been signed in ink "King" by creator Frank King. All three panels have horizontal inked line running along bottom, likely an edit for publication size. Last panel bears two Chicago Tribune copyright strips. Back has Tribune Engraving Room instamp and "Print On Jem Metal" stamped notation. Pin holes along margins, one at bottom of first panel, not affecting art. Moderate dust soiling to margins. but art remains clean for the most part. Fine overall w/ VF art.
