Item Description
Illustrated cardboard box w/"A Flashing - Roaring - Speeding Model Of Buck Rogers Famous Inter-Planetary Rocket Cruiser" text contains classic 12" long tin litho rocketship w/built-in key. Marx, 1934. Box is missing original cardboard nose cone insert and features printed text directions on one inner flap. Missing opposite inner flap and end flap on this side. Box is evenly aged and o/w shows just lt. scattered wear. Good/VG, but still nice for display. Toy features detailed images of Buck, Wilma Deering and Dr. Huer in cockpit windows. Complete w/original flint holder and tin flint cover present (often missing). Underside of the nose cone has full figure Buck Rogers logo image. Toy works, traveling forward as pinging sound is made and sparks intermittently. Thin plastic insert inside exhaust port has curled w/age but remains secured. Exterior has scattered trace wear, and is much nicer than typically found. VF/Exc. overall. Wonderful graphics on both box and toy.
