Item Description
First is 1.5" bronze medal. Hanger reads "Massachusetts Minute Men 1861". The ring joining hanger to medal is twisted. The medal's front has 20 tiny (1/16" or less) dark green corrosion dots. Reverse is clean with extensive text about Mass. volunteers answering Lincoln's  call for troops to defend Washington. It was these troops who took the first casualty of the Civil War at the hands of a mob as they passed through Baltimore. The medals were authorized in 1902 with 3,805 struck. The edge of this one reads "Harold M. English, Prvt. K. 6th Reg." VG. Rare. The next two both carry the text "Ancient And Honorable Artillery Co. Of Massachusetts". The 1-5/16" token is aluminum. One side reads "Souvenir Baltimore Oct. 96" and other shows their 1638 coat of arms. The 7" long ribbon with stickpin names "Baltimore City Councils" issued for the visiting Artillery Co. Oct. 5-8, 1896. These last two pieces are Exc.
