Item Description
Lot of six, including five certificate style "licenses" and single ink blotter, measuring between 3.75x9" and 8.5x11". All 1940s. One designed to hold Defense Stamps (w/one stamp adhered), two are issued to promote recruitment for Navy and Marines. Anti-Japanese text includes "Open Season! No Limit! Remember Pearl Harbor, Keep 'Em Dying, Open Season Declared December 7, 1941." Two have Axis leaders pictured in crosshairs; one also features Japanese "Skunk." One has penciled name while another has typed number. All other are unused. Scattered handling wear/aging. Fine to NM. See wallet card licenses lot #886. Mark Treitel Collection.
