Item Description
Illustrated cardboard box w/"A Flashing - Roaring - Speeding Model Of Buck Rogers Famous Inter-Planetary Rocket Cruiser" text contains very attractively designed 12" long tin litho rocketship w/built-in key. Marx, 1934. Box is missing original cardboard nose cone insert but is o/w complete and features printed text directions on one inner flap w/opposite flap having diagram of toy. Opposite end is missing one end flap. Box is evenly aged and has some scattered dust soiling as well as a few small punctures. One main panel has slight inward warp. Box is still tight and VG/Fine overall. Toy features detailed images of Buck, Wilma Deering and Dr. Huer in cockpit windows. Complete w/original flint holder and has flints in illustrated instruction envelope. Separate fin flint cover present (often missing). Underside of the nose cone has full figure Buck Rogers logo image. Toy works exceptionally well and travels forward as pinging sound is made. Evenly aged w/small scattered traces of wear in the form of small nicks/scratches. VF/Exc. overall and much nicer than typically found. Wonderful graphics on both box and toy. Richard Calusdian Collection.
