Item Description
The Junior Justice Society debuted in an ad in "All-Star Comics" #14 in Dec. 1942. Like other comic book clubs, readers were offered a membership kit which included a silver luster stamped metal badge. This was made available in 1942. Unlike those mass distribution badges that featured a silver finish and were stamped, this piece is all in brass w/high relief detail on the front and a perfectly flat reverse which has a short pin w/brass clutch fastener. This prototype would have been presented to the executives at DC Comics for their approval before the badge was put into production. The finish is a combination of golden brass and more copper-toned metal which shows lt. wear/aging but is still bright and VF. An extreme rarity and a must-have for the DC completist.
