Item Description
Here's a rare chance to own a classic key issue from Bronze Age Marvel, featuring the very first appearance of The Silver Samurai, published in "Daredevil" #111 by Marvel, July 1974. Dynamic layouts and pencils by Ron Wilson, w/strong full-body images of both Daredevil and future Wolverine nemesis himself - Kenuichio Harada, The Silver Samurai! Inks attributed to long-time inker Frank Giacoia. 19.25x25.25" frame contains 11.5x17.5" artboard w/10x15" image area. While artboard shows obvious wear w/tattered edges, age tanning and significant damage to the original logo, there is softness to the structural integrity of the artboard. Rather than have it restored, we have decided to leave that decision to the winning bidder and have instead created a new logo overlay to display cleanly in the custom frame. This will allow for either displaying it as is in the current Mylar bag or have the piece restored. We have not altered the original art in any way, as the logo overlay is actually taped on top of the Mylar and does not contact the art. Art presents well and comes framed as shown w/a reading copy of the published comic book. While this original art has its issues, it has been off the market for many years, only recently having been discovered. Displays Fine as framed.
