Item Description
The button is 1" with the number "25" in a shield flanked by a wreath beneath the text "Achievement Award/Boy Scouts Of America/W.S.S." Only the second of these we've seen. Issued for selling War Savings Stamps. Has back paper by American Artworks. Next are a pair of 1-3/8" brass award medals, one with brass rings and one without. Fronts are identical with Statue Of Liberty image along with scout emblem and text "War Service/Every Scout To Save A Soldier." We've noticed five different dates and these are usually found with no recipient's name. The dates we've seen are June 1917, October 1917, April 1918, October 1918, May 1919. The one without loops is from October 1917 and the panel on the back has the engraved name of "Thomas Cameron." The other is dated for April 1918 and has engraved name of "Jas. Marshall". Light minor wear on each but both are VF. See group of rare Boy Scout pinbacks #608.
