Item Description
14x36" stiff paper insert poster for the original 1958 release of the horror film directed by William Castle and starring William Prince, Jim Backus, Christine White, Jacqueline Scott and Susan Morrow. This film is notable as it involved one of Castle's first forays into using promotional gimmicks that later made him famous. A certificate for a $1,000 life insurance policy from Lloyd's of London was given to each customer in case he/she should die of fright during the film. This is noted at top of poster, w/an image of the "Beneficiary Agreement" pictured. Rest of poster features three images of woman w/leering skeletal face and hand over woman's prone form in cemetery. Poster has three main horizontal folds as issued w/several other horizontal creases as well as aged tape strips along top margin and at bottom center margin. Pin holes at corners. Fine.
