Item Description
11x16.75" on thin paper. Text at top "Christmas Is The Time For Amnesty! Free America's Smith Act Victims Sentenced For Their Ideas" w/image of a dove and headline "Amnesty!" Illustration of black and white hands gripping the bars of a prison cell at left w/a scene at right featuring a large group of protestors, many carrying signs, descending on the White House. Bottom text reads "Political Persecution Dishonors America- Wire President Truman- Now!" Vertical and horizontal fold w/ink inscription on reverse that is invisible from front. Two less than .25" vertical margin tears at top right otherwise only light handling wear. VF. An outstanding c. 1950 leftist poster that will make a beautiful display piece once framed.
