Item Description
10.25x24" matte contains 6.25x22-3/8" artboard w/pen and ink original art by "Nancy" creator Ernie Bushmiller. Art is for Feb. 22, 1946 daily strip and features four panels, w/Nancy commenting on Sluggo's new dog, whom he has named George Washington in honor of Washington's birthday. Nancy asks to borrow the dog for a few hours, allowing him to sleep on her bed. Last panel shows a smiling Nancy looking out window that has "George Washington Slept Here" sign posted outside. Nancy appears in all four panels; Sluggo in first two. Bushmiller has signed at bottom of second panel and third panel and United Features Syndicate, Inc. copyright. Artboard has some pinholes across top margin and has been secured to matte backing w/three pieces of cloth tape across top. Art remains clean and displays Exc. Ready for framing.
