Item Description
4-3/8x17-1/8" thin artboard w/India ink original art by Barney Google creator Billy DeBeck. Art is for Aug. 22, 1941 and features three panels, w/Snuffy Smith (in soldier's uniform) shooshing along plain-looking woman w/multiple pots and pans for aluminum scrap drive only for attractive woman w/single teapot to arrive in second panel, Snuffy suddenly having time to talk, telling her that the teapot is too pretty to melt down, offering to come home w/her to look for more aluminum to donate. DeBeck has signed second panel. First panel has King Features Syndicate copyright strip. Screentone accents to characters have darkened w/age and margins have some scattered dust soiling. Art is still VF overall.
