Item Description
Offered in this auction as items #1412-1433 are the cover and all story pages to "Captain America" #265 (Jan. 1982).  11x17" artboard featuring Zeck's pen and ink (w/screentone accents) original art for Page 24, featuring five panels showing Captain America and a shirtless Nick Fury fighting Sultan's Biotron constructs, who demand their surrender, noting that they are outnumbered. Captain America replies "That's What The Nazis Told The Beseiged [sic] Men Of Bastogne - - And They Were Wrong! So Long As Brave, Free Men Live - - The Eternal Torch Of Liberty And Justice Shall Never Die!" Spider-Man continues to fight in second panel, thinking to himself "I Know It's Corny, But Every Time He Opens His Mouth And Spouts A Speech, A Guy Can't Help But Become A Believer!" in response to Captain America's rousing words. Sultan order Biotron construct to activate missile, which they proceed to do, causing Nick Fury to react in last panel. Nick Fury appears in first and last panels w/Captain America in first w/him while Spider-Man appears in second panel. Art has been inked by John Beatty. Top margin has production notations w/incorrect stamped "Amazing Spider-Man" title (which has been crossed out) and inked issue/page number. Text word balloons are paste-overs, which have aged. Second panel is missing small word balloon w/some faint glue staining at this area. Screentone accents have also aged. Top left corner has been clipped, not affecting art or text. Art remains clean and VF/Exc.
