Item Description
We believe these dolls to be FAO Schwarz exclusives. Produced in 1962 by Aboriginals Ltd. Morticia originally sold for $19.95 (dolls were also produced for Wednesday Addams and her brother Irving/Pugsley). Inspired by the cartoons of Charles Addams, many appearing in "The New Yorker" magazine, doll was sold two years before premiere of ABC-TV show "The Addams Family." Morticia doll stands 48" tall and has starched linen face w/braided string hair and stuffed cloth body clad in long black cloth dress. Doll has moderate moisture staining to chest, large faint moisture stain to forehead and some staining to hands. Edges of face have some glue staining from attaching hair. Dress has some scattered aging. Fine overall. Rare, only the third example of this doll we've offered in our 50 years.
