Item Description
12x16" thin DC Comics artboard features artist Gil Kane's marker and pen and ink preliminary cover art for the Aug. 1983 issue of "Wonder Woman" #306, published by DC Comics featuring final cover art (using similar design) by José Luis García-López. Kane (1926-2000) co-created the modern-day versions of the superheroes Green Lantern and the Atom for DC Comics, and co-created Iron Fist w/Roy Thomas for Marvel Comics. He is also known for having penciled the first 75 issues of the Silver Age Green Lantern comic. Cover features full figure image of Wonder Woman standing on her invisible jet w/magic lasso in hand. Kane's art features stars in bkg., a trait shared w/final cover, which also added large Wonder Woman portrait. Bottom right has Kane's block signature (which is a bit faint due to marker aging, but still legible). Top has been left blank for placement of comic book title. Artboard is evenly aged w/some scattered handling wear. Marker has faded over the years but art is sill Fine overall.
