Item Description
10x15" cardboard w/applied image of St. Paul, MN hotel registry w/facsimile signatures of Taft and Roosevelt at top of list. Applied image at top features a sprawling landscape w/Roosevelt in foreground, big stick affixed to his belt, pointing to the scene at his back w/eye affixed on Uncle Sam who is seated w/his hat at right. At top of image text reads "Conservation" and in small font along lower margin the piece is titled "The Awakening Of Uncle Sam." Behind hotel registry is an explanation of the events that occurred during the National Conservation Congress and information about ordering additional examples of the "Conservation Souvenir." Cardboard has 1.5" crease at top right corner otherwise only minor handling. Hotel registry has horizontal crease 1" from the bottom edge and moderate scattered dots of light brown toning. Silk bow at top has separation but remains in place. Image at top has only minor dots of toning at top right. Overall Fine. The first we have encountered.
