Item Description
Vintage 8x10" stiff matte finish photo features actor Nigel Bruce smoking a pipe in a very Watson-like pose. Bruce (1895-1953) was a British character actor best known for his portrayal of Dr. Watson in a series of Sherlock Holmes films starring Basil Rathbone as Holmes. The pair also starred together in "The New Adventures Of Sherlock Holmes" radio series. Photo has lengthy inscription "To The Straus Motion Picture Appreciation Club. With My Very Sincere Good Wishes - From Nigel Bruce." Bruce has also dated photo "1942," the same year "Sherlock Holmes And The Voice Of Terror" came out. Some minor corner tip wear but Exc. overall w/bold signature. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
