Item Description

Fleischer Studios produced some of the most elaborate animated cartoons for the 1940s "Superman" series. Sadly, little original art from this series of animated series remains today. Offered here is a 10.25x12.5" sheet of animation paper w/lead/colored pencil original art by Fleischer Studios animator Myron Waldman (1908-2006), who worked on an array of Fleischer cartoons, including Superman, Betty Boop, Popeye and was animator on two Academy Award-nominated shorts - 1937's "Educated Fish" and 1939's" Hunky And Spunky." Art depicts Superman rescuing Lois Lane from plummeting cable car. "S-102" pencil notation at upper right. Waldman has signed in pencil at lower right. Left margin has slight trim, but art remains clean and Exc. and would make for great display if matted and framed. Franco Toscanini Collection.
