Item Description
Complete set of seven, sizes range from 1-3/8" to 2.5" dia. Brass badges issued as members advanced through ranks in Quaker Cereal-sponsored radio club of 1938-1939. All but "Patrol Leader" badge has Tracy portrait and "Dick Tracy Secret Service Patrol" name plus ranks of "Member (1-3/8"), Second Year Member, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, Inspector General (2.5" dia)." The "Lieutenant" badge is black on silver luster while the other five are all brass luster. Set also includes top rank "Patrol Leader" badge that was a special appointment w/requirements even more stringent than "Inspector General." Upon appointment, the new Patrol Leader was sent a code book, patrol pledge and a membership badge for each of the five newly recruited members of their patrol. This badge was to be worn below the badge noting the member's rank in the club. Badge has much bright luster loss and is Fine/VF. Very rare and just the third example we've seen in our 49 years. Other badges has trace of wear/aging, but much luster remains and all are Fine-VF overall. A beautiful set to frame for display.
