Item Description
11x17" thin DC Comics artboard features artist Kelley Jones' pen and ink original art for page 19 of the Feb. 1997 issue of "Batman" #539, published by DC Comics. Jones is a comic book artist best known for his runs on "Batman" w/writer Doug Moench and on "Sandman" w/writer Neil Gaiman. Jones did a few Batman projects in 1993 before becoming the regular "Batman" artist in 1995, staying on the title until 1998. His run is considered one of the most definitive of the 1990s. Five panel page features Batman trailing and fighting character The Undertaker, who bursts forth from large pile of bones, attacking Batman w/a human leg bone. Batman appears in four of the five panels, all of which feature bone(s). Page has been inked by John Beatty. Top/bottom margins have production notations w/hand-lettered title/issue/page number. Top/bottom center margins have aged printing centering taped marks. Exc. Great creepy content w/nice Batman imagery.
