Item Description
Set #7012. c.1950s. Marx. 14.5x22.5x4" deep box. Old store stock. Box variety has blue text with black playset image on the lid. Box has lt. aging/wear. Box is complete w/cardboard insert. Exc. Contents vary in different Marx sets, missing sauce launcher and disks otherwise this set is very complete with silver/blue tin litho space building, unassembled and includes signal unit, front gate w/doors and nine wall sections. Marx produced both Tom Corbett and Space Patrol playsets and both types of figures were used in both sets. The figures included are 20 gray, 20 orange, 20 yellow. Figures include aliens and robots as well as Tom Corbett figures. The hard plastic field accessories in silver include observatory dome, radar antenna unit, fuel tank unit and more. Hard plastic academy furniture in light blue includes chair, cabinets, benches, ladder, control panel, etc. The hard plastic operating accessories are vertical rocket launcher platform w/three rockets. Set has pom pom gun/shells still on sprue, instructions (edge wear), original brown Marx bags, 15 clear helmets, control chair and search light. This version of the playset comes w/space car in dark blue, clear canopy for space car. The building is unassembled and flat o/w contents show lt. wear/aging. Overall Exc. A very nicely designed and detailed Marx playset and in choice condition as nice as they come.
