Item Description
First is DeWitt MVB 1840-6 which is 1-3/16" in copper holed as made. This has portrait on front with slogan "The Sober Second Thoughts Of The People Are O.K." Reverse shows a safe surmounted by an eagle and with rim slogan "The. Independent. Sub. Treasury The. Choice Of. The. People." Token is holed as made. Reverse edge has some very tiny nicks and dents of a minor nature and the piece has extremely little overall wear. Next is MVB 1840-9 in brass and 7/8" holed as made. Front has his portrait, name and date of birth while reverse shows scales weighed in favor of the "Democrats" over the "Whigs" and with surrounding slogan "Weighed In The Balance & Found Wanting."
