Item Description
Pair of mats contain trimmed sheets of paper w/pen and ink original art for 311 concert poster. First sheet measures 10x10.5" and features large "311" logo. Sheet has some handwritten annotations at lower left and has been signed by the artist at lower right. VF/Exc. Second sheet measures 8.5x14.25" and features face of one of the Chinese dragons featured on the poster (which was flipped to produce second dragon facing opposite direction. This also has annotations and has been signed by the artist. Upper right corner missing, but this does not affect art, which displays Exc. as matted. Lot also includes worn 11.5x24" onionskin sheet featuring the original layout approval sketch in black felt tip pen. This sheet shows obvious edge wear and has some handling wear as well. VG overall, but could be matted for nice display. Final item is uncut 23x35" proof sheet featuring two concert posters as well as five handbills; four featuring dragon design w/fifth featuring photo of nude model (an experimental design done for Arminski's amusement). Sheet has been signed at bottom center and shows some lt. edge wear. VF/Exc. Few sheets exist in this uncut form and would be a nice piece to frame. Art was created for June 24, 2000 concert that took place at the Riverside Centroplex in Baton Rogue, LA that featured 311 w/special guest Incubus. Mark Arminski Archives and comes w/COA. Winning bidder purchases artwork only. The artist, Mark L. Arminski, retains all and total reproduction rights.
