Item Description
6x9.25" hardcover w/216 pages. Written by George Lowther and published by Random House in 1942, this is the very first Superman prose book ever published w/original stories and unique art, including illustrations throughout by Joe Shuster, co-creator of Superman. These appear at the beginning/ending of chapters as well as six full-page illustrations and four choice full color plates. Dust jacket shows Superman bounding over Metropolis skyline. DJ has moderate aging/wear w/slight fade and color touch-ups. Corners clipped. Brown paper tape reinforcements added to interior edges. VG. Inside front/back has 2.5" wide streak of heavy aging and covers have some scattered aging. Fine w/Exc. interior pages. Comes w/clipped magazine advertisement showing this book.
