Item Description
Three buttons promoting shoes are from the early 1900s and each 1.25". The fourth button is c. 1915 at 1" and with W&H paper with a few age marks. Button also has slightest age trace on left edge but barely visible. Neat design and text promoting "Hub Mark Rubbers." Fine. The shoe buttons begin with "Twin Owl Shoes" issued by a Massachusetts store and with W&H paper used 1900-1912. Also known with a red background but this is a first seen b/w variety. NM. Second showing cutaway of a foot inside a shoe has back paper from Los Angeles Badge. Few tiny age dots on reverse but front is totally clean and promotes "Regal Shoe Store" and "Nature Form Shoe For Boys, Girls And Babies." Exc. Third is tin covered back by St. Louis Button Co. Front promotes "Galveston's Sole Protection/Little Tough Strong Shoes For Boy Or Girl" along with name of Texas dealer. Cartoon like design of a boy who appears to be using a shoe to dismantle a board fence with text on the boards "The World's Strongest Shoes For Children Every Pairs." Couple of faint age marks on both rim and center design although minimal and still displaying very nicely. VF.
