Item Description
Original illustrated cardboard box contains 4.25" long plastic figure of Spider-Man riding pink scooter. ©1967 Marvel Comics Group. From a series of three that also included Captain America and Thor. Scooters were either sold on cards or boxed as the example offered here is. Box features repeated image of Spider-Man on scooter front and back w/side panel illustration showing Spider-Man fighting obscure Marvel villain Masked Marauder. Box is complete w/original packing paper. Scattered corner/edge wear, but box remains tight and VF/Exc. Scooter is complete w/tail pipe and handle bars, friction mechanism still works. Some scattered glue marks, but these are as made/assembled and toy is o/w NM. All in this series are among the rarest/most sought after of all 1960s Marvel toys. Only three boxed Spider-Man Scooters are known as listed in "The Guide To Marvel Silver Age Collectibles" by J. Ballman, w/a value of $3,000 to $4,000.
