Item Description
Classic 13" tall mostly tin robot designed after Robby The Robot from the classic sci-fi film "Forbidden Planet." Made in Japan by Nomura, c. 1957. Original cardboard box features lid w/great illustrations on all sides. Box has even lt. aging, w/some corner tip wear/creasing. Box remains tight and free of splits. Fine overall. Toy works and walks forward as pistons and lights operate inside the clear plastic dome and "ear" antennas spin. Arms are manually adjustable from side to side and original rubber hands remain pliable. Key style grips on D battery box doors. Battery box is spotless, body remains exceptionally bright and glossy. Plastic dome remains clear and free of cracks, showing just scattered scuffing. Back bottom interior tab of plastic dome (where screw connects) is broken off, but this does not detract greatly from overall appearance. VF/Exc. overall. A better than typically found example of this truly classic robot toy.
