Item Description
13/16" silvered metal rim and frame with lapel stud reverse holds a celluloid sheet with their names and their portraits executed in the style of a steel engraving. The two toured successfully for many years and became one of the most popular and profitable acts in vaudeville. This lapel stud is c. 1896 when the partners opened the Weber & Fields Music Hall, where they produced successful burlesques of popular Broadway shows. Tiniest loss of silver flashing from the narrow rim edge and a couple of tiny dots of air beneath the celluloid but very minor. No stain. Exc. An early and historic entertainment business rarity. Only example we've seen.
