Item Description
Thin 12x20" glossy stock second printing poster for July 25-27, 1969 concert that took place at the Honolulu International Center that featured The Grateful Dead and It's A Beautiful Day. This is a second printing that was printed in 1982 by Rick Griffin and Jose Kent. On the authorized second print, the top of the skull and the area in the center of the yellow sun are pure white. In addition, the left edge of the design is not straight in two areas. One is midway down the edge and the other is near the bottom. Poster's wonderful psychedelic design by Rick Griffin features winged skeleton holding two hearts above bright sun as pair of anthropomorphic eyeballs surf waves on either side of Hawaiian totem statue. This poster was designed for a series of shows that were to be held in Honolulu. Unfortunately, the shows were canceled, the printer was never paid, and most of the original print posters were destroyed. Estimates vary, but the consensus seems to be that there are probably 20-25 original posters known in all conditions. Due to the poster's popularity, a second printing was authorized. NM.
